Glad to see the phoenix has risen from the ashes!
I was a Cub Scout in Mill Pack and then a Scount in the Wallabies troop in the late seventies and early eighties, and my Dad was an Assistant Scout Leader. I vividly remember being 'thrown up' from Cubs to Scouts (I believe this was unique in scouting), wide games in the woods inside Lingfield Racecourse (do these still happen?) and attending camping and cooking competitions.
Things have gone full cirle, as my eldest son is now a Beaver and I am an Occasional Helper.
Sad to see the old hut burn down. However, glad to see that it has been re-built and the group is moving forward. I had many happy years as a cub and scout during the 70 and 80'.
I do have some old photos and cine film if any older members would like to have copies then please get in touch.
The gang shows and summer camps were great fun.
Hi all
have only just stumbled accross this website. Sorry to see the old hut was destroyed. I was a cub and then scout back in the 1970's, 1st Hurst Green Mill Pack, and !st hurst Green Wallabies.
Hope the new hut is up and running soon. I remember the working parties when we built the extension to the old hut and how many weeks we had to meet at Holland School during construction.
HI MR JACOBS, YOU SUPPORT OUR CHILDREN IN NEED APPEAL EVERY YEAR AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN COULD DRESS UP AND HELP RAISE MONEY FOR THE SCOUT HUT?
Thanks for the diagram showing where the badges should go. My son has just received his 2 Year badge. Does this go where the diagram says 'Awards' (ie abouve the Challenge Badges?) Thanks
